Hope for Vision

In collaboration with the Island Craft Organization we organized a reading glasses donation programme for a Community in Marandagahamula involved in the "Handloom Textile village project" of Island Craft Organization. It was identified that many villagers who participated in the weaving project have vision related issues. According to the Island Craft Organization, villagers have to stress their eyes when using traditional weaving machines and it might be the cause for vision related issues. These villagers engage in weaving everyday more than 10 hours per day. Therefore, the Hope for Vision Project provided them with free eye checkup facilities, free reading glasses and necessary medical recommendations for the severe cases.
